What a good Mummy
I thought the baby pigeon (Pigeon chick? not sure what to call it) had managed to fly back up into the nest a few days ago but I then discovered it still on our trellis hedge. It's been there the best part of a week now and appears to be very comfortable, and very importantly feeling safe. He watches us as we go about our business in the garden and Mum comes to feed him, especially early in the morning which is when I took this Blip.
The nesting box is definitely in use by the blue tits, took the extra photo this afternoon. They keep coming and perching on the hole, popping their heads in. I'm hoping all the popping of the head is feeding youngsters, or maybe feeding the tit that is on the eggs, fingers crossed.
Looking good on both counts.
Apart from that it's been a gloss painting and gardening day today, wonderful, just what I love!! (sic). Pulled my back a bit lifting a very heavy concrete pot from the back garden to the front to relocate the twisted hazel. I did take the hazel out of the pot to move it but it was still very heavy. (other extra photo, the pot with the white gravel on top).
