Hot (or not) from the Garden

We've been trying to "garden" since we moved here about three years ago, with a focus on edibles rather than flowery stuff, and so far the results have been quite poor. Aside from a (small) handful of radishes, about all we've been able to grow are peas. These peppers might be edible, but they're not looking very good if you ask me... As for the corn (or maize if you prefer), well, I'll be surprised if we get to eat even one kernel. I'd love to have richer soil and better weather, but it's just not shaping up here.
