Toy, Tanni, and Tunnel..

Saturday was a brilliant day. Warm, sunny and still.. Only one option. Put the cover on the tunnel. But one slight problem. No one around to help. Phoned H, but he was busy laying concrete with J. But J could help once they'd finished and cleaned up. M was working, so what to do?

I did it all by myself! Two lengths of fencing rail (2 x 4's and 5.4 metres long). Roll the plastic out on one side. Trap the corners between a rail and a short length of batten, nailed together. Then, clothes prop style, gradually ease the plastic over the frame. First one end, then the other, and back to the first again. Did have to climb a ladder inside to ease the edge of the plastic over the framework. Once it was in place, it was just a job of going round, and fixing properly with battens, and pulling tight..

Still have to tension it (lift the central hoops using a crowbar and tighten the bolts in place), and fit the doors.

Today has been much duller, with drizzle through the morning. Took Tanns down the beach later, and met S & T, then S & A, and then A.

And there were two young girls, staying next door, swimming in the sea.. Brrrrr..
