waiting his turn

I heard the house finches making a ruckus at the feeder.
First I was glad to hear the house finches at all, as they have been slow to rediscover our feeder after our 3 week absence.
Then I heard a flicker.
Much to my surprise, the flicker was mounted on the side of the feeder, and all the house finches were scolding him from the nearby tree.
Once I got out my camera, the flicker vanished, and the finches got down to business.
