My lucky day

Up and out early this morning, and saw a beautiful sunrise.

Back home at 9am I sat down to work, and this little chap appeared at the window.  Spent much of the day taking pictures of him...what a delight...hawfinch coccothraustes coccothraustes.  My Collins guide describes them as flying nutcrackers, and he certainly enjoyed the seeds from the feeder.  His beak is an amazing pewter colour...all in all a stunning little bird.
