Fool or No Fool

Driving to work this morning, and flitting between Radio 3 and 4, I learnt that it is the 48th anniversary of the shooting of Dr Martin Luther King today. They played his favourite hymn, a spiritual "There is a balm in Gilead", sung by Paul Robeson. No doubt in the early '60's many thought Dr King a fool or worse (if they disagreed with him). So fools can be some of the wisest, truthful,  and bravest people.

Time will tell if the people who decided to launch a new national print newspaper are fools or not. After all it is only 9 days since the Independent newspaper went completely on-line. The demographic it is aimed at is apparently middle aged women, it wants to be more upbeat than the competition, to be politically neutral, and the idea is it can be read in 30 minutes. It is printed on high quality paper. I won't knock the attempt to produce something different. But foolish ..... let's see
