Rusty Cans

Much of the nature reserve is sited on the old Plotlands area that was the site of many weekend homes for Londoners from the East End. Over the years, the homes became derelict, reduced to a few buildings at the beginning of the millennium. Most of the area is returned to woodland but there a few spots where detritus remains. One such spot resembles a rubbish tip with piles of old tins cans, discarded household items etc. It is a shame that such a mess exists in the middle of a nature reserve - I can only assume that the land is still owned by someone.
