Power sources

Hi - Driving along today thinking about my next work meeting and what I want to share. ..then these giant tree trunks in an ordinary street guided me into pondering the power that they held and hold? If I wonder about legends of Beings inside trees (and many cultures have such legends) then are these still active?
Then I saw IT - the line of power that we rely on, and how the tree persists to grow around that dominating line of human-power. So is this like a symbiotic or a competition relationship? Is it a Healthy Relationship?
