My baby's birthday!

12 years ago today I brought my beautiful son into the world and he wouldn't even let me post a blip of him blowing out his candles! So the cake on it's own will have to do, as I didn't take any other photos today.

The cake was actually a lucky find. The other day I was rooting through the cupboard looking for a cake tin, when I found one that felt very heavy. And inside was a lovingly wrapped Christmas cake. Talk about getting a bit absent minded - I had made double quantity at Christmas and then forgotten all about the other one.... The timing of the find was perfect - all I had to do was make marzipan and icing and voila! Birthday cake. Tastes really good too - nicely matured.
