Opening Day
Starting early in the morning, the cars arrived, put up their party tents, played their music, and celebrated. At 2:57pm or as we say around my office 14:57, the national anthem was sung and the F-16s flew overhead. Then...Play Ball!
It was opening day for the Texas Rangers. I didn't go to the game, but I did walk out of work for a quick shot as the F-16s did their flyby. We got word that several pilots we knew would be doing the flying while another would be on top of the stadium on a radio giving them "time on target" to coincide with Neal McCoy's finish of the national anthem. It was a beautiful day for a ball game. The temperature was 87F degrees and the Rangers won 3-2.
Interesting stat:
"The Rangers became the first team since at least 1900 to win on Opening Day while registering just one or zero hits."
