Day 2 of our Italian adventure
Yep - we didn't quite nail the 'classic' Leaning tower shot! It was crowded and we really couldn't be bothered but Toby wanted this picture (and on every picture after even when no-where near the tower he was holding his hand up like this!)
We decided we could easily spend another few days in Florence but since we don't have much time away, we would leave it for another time. This morning was packing up and walking to the train station where we boarded a train to Pisa.
I'd heard Pisa was underwhelming and it was, but kind of something to tick off the list. We left our bags at the station and walked to the tower. Spent about 20 mins there then walked back through the town to a little square and fab sandwich shop. Caught some rays and ate some Gelato before heading off on the train again to Cinque Terre. Arrived at 7pm. All looks good - apartment is old but clean and tucked away on one of the tiny twisty streets in Monterrosso. We found a lovely restaurant for dinner but the kids were tired and didn't eat much so we headed straight home after the meal (wistfully passing a lovely little bar) and put them to bed.
