So Sad ...

Oh dear.  Our magnolia tree -- the one that outdid itself in petaly splendour last Spring -- was getting ready to burst into bloom a few days ago (see extra), but yesterday's snow and freezing rain had other plans.  Today, the whole tree is covered in tragic, limp, brown, crumpled excuses for blossoms.  There's a reason they call April "the cruelest month".
