My first wren

The hawfinch is still here: I'm hoping that he's building his strength ready to travel south to join his pals.  I've no idea how birds feel when they are solitary, but it must be safer to be part of a group.  He looks very healthy and lively though.  I've put a couple of pictures of him enjoying breakfast in the extras, to show the shape of his beak when open.

In the afternoon I managed to photograph a wren for the first time...I was hoping for a closer zoom in, but it took off to another tree.

Beautiful pink and blue skies this evening: I hope it is a sign of good weather tomorrow.
