Grand Central

To Birmingham for a meeting today.

This is my first visit since the redevelopment of New Street Station. Above it sits Grand Central, a new shopping complex. I think it works well. Much of the exterior is covered in reflective material, creating lots of really weird vistas. I liked the view of the railway below in this one.

The extra is Gillian Wearings "Real Birmingham family", which sits in front of the Library. These are real people - two single mothers who are also sisters, and their two sons - with another on the way. I hope they use the library.

I like to see what is going on in this city, and to compare it with Manchester. Talking about that here would take too long a blip though.
