Here there and everywhere

Cairo Kitchen

Wednesday here and so tomorrow's our Friday in this part of the world.

One of our trainees was offended by another trainee's behavior, attitude and comments this morning and came to talk to us about it. We suggested to her that she talk to her colleague, tell her how she felt and try to sort it out - they're adults after all. She did, but her comments weren't well received and I believe that after a bit of an argument one of them said that the best thing to do was to stop talking to each other. Not good. And we aren't even at the end of week 1 yet! I have to deal with this tomorrow as I'm not prepared to run a course with two people not talking to each other, which may jeopardize the atmosphere and positive learning environment for the other 10 trainees.

Last night for dinner I paid a silly amount of money for a Caesar salad and a half portion of spaghetti carbonara in the hotel as I was too tired to go out for food and too hungry for the stash of goodies we'd bought to keep in the hotel room. I didn't want a repeat of that tonight. I walked along the road to Cairo Kitchen and bought what you see here - a regular salad for dinner tonight and a small salad to take to school for lunch tomorrow - all for 32 Egyptian pounds, so just over 3 euros. Result! Thanks to blipper Undercovercairo for the suggestion. Have just had dinner and it was delish. They do home delivery so we might try that one night too.
