The Imp

Here's a little gem of a carving to be found in The Hermitage in Kings Court Bakewell.
Carved in Napoleonic times by soldiers who were held captive within the courtyard, it resembles a figure in the crucifix position and was perhaps used by the soldiers to come to say their prayers.
The Hermitage shop which sells holistic and precious stones and also holds seances as it's haunted!
It aslo has a whole lot more and is well worth a visit as Kings Court is absolutely gorgeous one of the great little courtyards in Bakewell.
It's on South Church Street just below our Old town hall which is now Orvis.
