Lions

This is not one of my best photos ever taken, but a favorite memory of the boys and I. Britain has a drive-through African Safari and Amusement park in the midlands. You can feed giraffe and camels from your car, get remarkably close to cheetahs and rhinos, and..observe the lions. They're known to walk right past your car, get on the car, and even gnaw on tires.

It was a very humbling moment to have one of these cats casually saunter past the car, knowing a sheet of glass was the only protection. I wondered if a child-safe window had ever malfunctioned with a lion nearby. What if a stubborn toddler tried to get out of the car? How is the zoo insured for this? It was unbelievable to be so close to such a dangerous, albeit fed creature.

It's a day I thoroughly enjoyed with the kids.
