Wood violets

How did they get up into this wall planter. I put the flower pot there last year and a bird built a nest in it, not sure what it was as it was tucked in the honeysuckle. I have cut that back this year and now find all these lovely wood violets there, they do grow all over the garden so probably spread by the birds
