We're home!

Orkney welcomed us home with a burst of sunshine and blue skies today, with an amazing cloudscape thrown in for good measure. It was in fact the best weather we have seen in our three-week trip around England, Scotland and Wales.

We had overnighted at the car park for the Ring 'o Brodgar and this was the peaceful view of Harray Loch that we woke to. We had to be off sharpish as we needed to buy new ferry tickets for The Beast and still be ready to board at 09:50 - so there was no chance to go up tot he Ring itself and play. Another time, maybe.

The Driver did a good job of backing the van in to our gateway and up our track, which proved to be slightly less than the width  of our axles plus tyres. Not a thing to be tried in wetter weather.

I think I have a few back blips to post but I need to consult the laptop that went away with us so will probably catch up tomorrow.
