Darlington Railway Museum

Here is The Rocket - designed by George Stephenson - the first locomotive to haul passengers along the track between Darlington and Stockton.

We made a day trip, driving from Richmond to see the Darlington Railway Museum.

I am sorry to record that we were a bit disappointed with the railway museum at Darlington. It was much smaller than we expected. Although there was a cafe, there was no food!. We bought a cup of coffee and a packet of crisps each, and sat at a table in the eating area - then went into Darlington to find somewhere to eat.
