The Angus Inn

By angus_inn

Another sunny day..well, mostly...the brisk southerly was a touch pesky and took the edge on the temperature but in the shade it as lovely. Blipped this on the Oriental Parade Beach in Wellington just after a surf boats race where teams of lifeguards from different beaches in the region and sometimes across the country race against each other.

In the afternoon, we met some friends for coffee and chat in the Botanics and then we went off to a St Andrew's Day barby at ma wee pal Graeme McLellan's Hoose. As well as the usual fodder of steaks, sausages and burgers we had black puddin', and haggis neeps 'n' tatties! We even had salad which was very un-Scottish.

To complete the occasion we blasted out some classic old Scotland Football World Cup songs with my favourite being Spain '82s "We Have a Dream" featuring John Gordon Sinclair and BA Robertson! An appalling tune but brought back memories as it was my first ever record acquired when I was a wee laddie. Seeing Ailsa clapping and dancing to it brought a tear to my eye - that's my bonnie wee lass!!
