Mystery Fruit

There is a large variety of trees and shrubs around the lake at the Taylor Dam. I noticed this particular tree for the first time this morning. The fruit are very pretty. I found one that was a darker shade of red and was brave enough to eat it. It tasted sweet but a little grainy. I would be very pleased if someone can identify the fruit and tree for me.
Maisie had fun. I kept her out of the water so she stayed dry and clean for a change.
