Warm Up

Yes, I'm cheating: it's from yesterday's dance performance. 

But I have a good excuse: I spent the day finalizing the process of packing up our family home, which we've now sold. It'll be turned over to the new owners on May 2. As the day wore on, I became more ruthless with decisions on what to keep and what to set aside. It is quite amazing what accumulates over the years and what lurks in the back of closets and cabinets. It was sometimes fun to rediscover a trinket long forgotten. 

We'd been doing a bit of packing on and off for several months, but this is it. It hadn't felt real until today. Bitter sweet, really. Lots of very good memories in a house where we raised three kids and spend almost 30 years. We're turning a page this weekend...
