Katabatic wind

Finally the work deadlines are being met and there was an opportunity to find some time to ourselves this weekend. The recent snow has cleared, though the wind is still cold. A new orchid was the extent of our purchases and we enjoyed stopping to watch this great phenomenon on our drive home. We walked over this mountainside last summer but it would have been an altogether different experience today. As the sky cleared in the evening we made the most of the longer daylight hours by enjoying an evening walk (see extra).
