Swan plant

Balloon plant, balloon cotton-bush or swan plant.  Its known as a swan plant in New Zealand. The monarch caterpillar feeds on the leaves.  At this time of the year its unusual to find a plant with leaves on.  They are usually stripped bare from an over abundance of caterpillars. The "swan" (seed pod) has burst to distribute it's seeds.
