RIP Ben

I took a walk along the towpath this evening. After a little while I came upon a group of about 40 or 50 people dressed in black. They ranged in age from middle aged to teenagers and they seemed for the most part to be drunk. There were carrier bags of booze.
As I neared the group, one on the fringes told me not to worry, it was a wake. For Ben.
Ben had been riding his motorbike (illegally) along the path the night before and had collided with a cyclist (cyclist survived the encounter) lost control of his machine and struck a concrete slab. He was killed instantly. Many of the group were sitting on the concrete slab.
I wanted to photogragh the gathering, but emotions were running high, and I didn't want to become the focus of attention.

Ben was 19.
