Dinner with friends

We were invited to dinner at Millie Spaniel's house, seven of us, and when we arrived one of the husbands suggested we sit outside. So we carried all the drinks and nibbles out, plus the cushions for the garden furniture and two extra chairs, and the men joined us to toast our friend who is making good progress after his triple bypass (He's been transferred to rehab at La Rochelle now)
Then we carried it all back inside and had dinner, chicken Marengo, cheese course with fig chutney, and white chocolate and cranberry brûlée.
I think I've got to go on a diet :(
