The Hooded Merganser

Living in the Northwest has an abundance of wildlife year round and although running across a Wood Duck in various ponds is pretty normal I ran across this Hooded Merganser early this morning (Thanks to the bird guy on the trail for the name) which I hadn't seen before. He seemed to not mind having his picture taken but then spotted something under the surface and quickly disappeared!
