Postcard from Margate

Margate and Herne Bay - Travels with Matilda Day 5

Just sending you a quick postcard from a very rainy Margate as we've been hospital and care home visiting for most of the day.

This morning we visited Roland, a very dear old friend and ex-gliding partner, who is in a care home in Herne Bay suffering from the very cruel Dementia. Roland was so pleased to see us and we stayed for lunch in the Home which was far more like a luxurious hotel than a Care Home.

In the afternoon we went to Margate to see Alison in hospital there and she's doing really well after her emergency op but convalescence will take a while.

We got back to Whitstable at 6ish. Paul and I made a mean fish curry and we were still round the table at midnight - Mum had gone to bed hours ago but Mr T and Paul still had yet more flying adventures to share ..... ......
