Tarn at Leaves from Rosthwaite Fell
Woke up to proper snow! - all over Skiddaw and the Dodds, a clear, blue sky and a cold, crisp day.
Drove down to Stonethwaite and did a 6 1/2 mile walk (which felt like a 10 miler) over Rosthwaite fell and Glaramara (taking the Wainwright total up to 144 - only 70 to go! The temperatures in the sun was really warm, but the cold wind meant layers were on and off like anything! I swear that at one point you could even see the snow melting on the distant fells. It was all gone by late afternoon.
In the middle distance, the Langdale pikes are visible (Pike o'stickle is sticking up), and the detail in the clouds was retained by using a soft-edged 0.6 ND grad
Fab day.
