This is a first for us in that we have never knowingly seen this type of bird before.  It is true we haven't been looking and so, for all we know, may be fairly common.  Consulting our books, our best guess is that it is a Lesser Redpoll.  Anyone?

The bird table used to be buzzing with chaffinches and sparrows.  It seems to have gone all exotic.
