No gas!

One week on and they are still working on replacing the gas main to the seven houses in our cul-de-sac. They told us this morning that the gas would be off all day. It still isn't back on, at ten past eight in the evening!
Meanwhile of course we just had to go out to lunch! I wanted to see the bluebells in the be ch woods up on Leith Hill but they weren't showing yet. We found ourselves at this tranquil spot with strange name "Friday Street".a stream is dammed to make this lovely lake in the woods. The old cottage is tucked below the dam. We had our lunch in a nearby pub, The Stephan Langton.
