Tiny Tuesday: Wild Violet
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
So if it's raining, have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain you know, it's raining violets.
And where you see clouds upon the hills,
You soon will see the crowds of daffodils;
So keep on looking for a blue bird and list'ning for his song,
Whenever April showers come along.
The refrain from "April Showers" by Louis Silvers (music) and Buddy DeSylva (lyrics), a popular song introduced by Al Jolson in the 1921 musical 'Bombo'
A tiny Wild Violet growing near the hedge on the front lawn at Mum's, with a little daisy beside it for scale.
There were April showers this morning, but we somehow managed to dodge being rained upon this afternoon and there was a lot of sunshine to be enjoyed. Still no improvement in Mum's legs at all, though she has noticed that the weakness comes and goes and that she feels a little better for a while after she has eaten. After a good lunch at one of our regular haunts, she was able to walk the short distance from the car park at Sainsbury's to a seat near the checkouts, but then had to sit there and wait while I scouted round the supermarket for groceries. Mum has always been a very active and independent person, so I can only imagine how frustrating this is for her.
