Flushed
I took time off this afternoon to attend the Annual Members Forum of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health which was held at Caphouse Colliery - the home of the National Coal Mining Museum for England. Our guest speaker was Andrew Walsh who is Head of Health and Safety at the BBC.
After the meeting I had a quick look round some of the surface exhibits at the museum. These included a typical miner's outside "lav" and a 1940s Bedford coal delivery lorry (see extra).
Unfortunately the meeting finished far too late for me to sign up for the underground tour which is the star attraction here.
