Theory of Change

Skulking around the common room today as some pastries were being laid out for delegates at a conference of ecologists in the building.

Me, angling: 'Do you think I look like an ecologist?'
Colleague Steph: 'you're wearing a hoodie! At work!'

Interesting afternoon exploring a Theory of Change for a project in Myanmar. ToC (stick with me) is becoming an increasingly used phrase in the organisation as a tool to map out a project's logic and feasibility. It's a good initial design exercise to be consulted more widely with staff and partners in the field. Ideally you'd bring them in at the very start yet it's fairly hard to communicate remotely with illiterate slash and burn farmers living on 45 degree slopes in the extremities of the Himalayas in northern Myanmar.
