Cherry Blossom on Main Street

Had an early morning circular walk down to the river, everything wet and muddy, glad l was in my wellies.
Really enjoying the walk until l discovered that some established trees, about three or four, had recently been cut down. I was shocked because at least one of them, a horse chestnut, was really healthy, in bud and thriving.
I don't know who the land belongs to, but l have seen sheep there in the past. Can people just cut down trees? Don't they have some sort of preservation order on them? Too late to save them but l will be making enquirers to the Parish Council.
Later on l did see another one cut down but it was obviously diseased, so could understand that.
Last part of the walk was along Main Street and here l passed the little car park where for three weeks of the year the row of cherry trees look magnificent. I crossed over to photograh the pinky pinkness.
Arrived home as Mr P got in from his run around Danefield Forest, we had a quick breakfast of mashed avocado on toast then went to the allotment to clear out the shed. Took a carbootful of rubbish to the tip.
Went to meet Rebecca off the train at Ilkley Station as she had done a morning's supply. We went to the independent Italian for a budget lunch: glass of wine, main course and a coffee for less than £10 and they brought us olives and crostini as we sat down. Lovely to have a bit of quality mother and daughter time.
Then we trailed the charity shops searching for props for our outfits for her forthcoming significant birthday party in a couple of weeks, partially successful.
I have 100 metres of 12 inch wide, black tuille, being delivered later in the week for mine, l kid you not!
