The Manchester Museum
After years of budget cuts, it has come to this.
All the Museums in Manchester are to close, the buildings sold off, and replaced with this new pop up museum in Albert Square. It is efficient in space terms, and astonishingly flexible in terms of location. The Museum can be brought to the people, rather than them having to go to it - Oxford Road is after all rather a long way away. And kids will love it.
Fortunately - I am joking ! Manchester's city fathers understand the importance of culture to the City and it's future. Just as well really, you only have to see what has happened in Bradford recently to think that this may not be as far from a joke as we might wish.
