About to Burst

I went for a walk this afternoon hoping to see some wild life. I could hear a woodpecker high in one of the trees but could not see it even through the zoom. I think I must have been close because you can see how the bark has been pecked away on the first extra. I did see a red squirrel scurrying about high up in one of the oak trees. See 2nd extra if you want a laugh (top right of frame) - I think I need a bit of practice.
Back home I photographed a corn flower bud which is just about to open showing a tinge of purple.
