Depth of Field
The mechanics of the micro four thirds format means it generally struggles to produce genuinely shallow DoF. In overall terms, a given F-stop value has about twice the depth of field of a comparable lens for 35mm format or sensor size. Thus the 25mm 1,4 lens at maximum aperture will have the field of view and the DoF at maximum aperture of a 50mm f2.8 on 35mm format.
Here, however, the 20mm f1.7 shows the case isn't hopeless with this noble effort on an -- admittedly prosaic -- subject.
