Lulworth Castle and East Lulworth village church.

Photographed from Flower's Barrow.

St Andrews is an Anglican church dating back to the 15th century.  The village of East Lulworth, which originally surrounded the church, was demolished, to be rebuilt outside the walls of the castle grounds in the 18th century.

The grounds also house a Roman Catholic church, St Mary's, built in 1786.  The Catholic Weld family, owners of the estate for several centuries, were permitted to build it on the strict understanding that it was NOT to look like a church.

The castle is early 17th century.
