Rocky Mountain Moments

Killdeer

I got out for a quick visit to the Osprey nest during a small window of sunshine in our dreary day.  I watched them for a while and then the male flew off to the north.  I saw where he went and followed and found an almost dry pond where he was happily bathing, unfortunately too far away for a good shot.  Only puddles and little streams are left but there were many birds and ducks and geese in the area.  I heard this Killdeer's characteristic call and finally spotted him when he came into this clear area.  I hope all the birds are hunkered down for the storm that is moving in on us.  The forecast is for 10 to 14 inches of snow over three days starting tomorrow.  I'm in denial....we'll see what happens.

Thank you very much to everyone for the stars and hearts on yesterday's woodpecker and on previous blips!  My comments will be back on with tomorrow's blip :-))
