Ornery butterfly

Every so often, this big blue butterfly floats across the garden and I leap up to follow it. I never realized before how fast they move – or how they like to tease. Today I chased it up the hill to its resting place and stood with camera poised for 20 minutes, waiting for it to open its wings and reveal its heavenly blue. To no avail. When I finally brushed against the leaves in an attempt to get closer, it floated off far too fast for me to focus.

Head down and working again for the rest of the day – I’ll be pushed to meet my deadlines, three jobs having come in  simultaneously.
