Lost the plot?
Finally delivered the last of the translations - what a relief. There can’t be many things more boring than translating a law.
There was a talk on Shakespeare in the evening, given by a leading Brazilian expert. It was extremely interesting, although the combination of an inferior sound system and the lecturer’s quiet voice and Brazilian accent tested our concentration. It was a fun evening too, a good crowd of people, mostly expats, with cheese and wine to keep us happy.
I sneaked a shot of Leopoldo, a rotund little man who frequents the Scottish Country Dancing classes – and every other British event – as his chin sank onto his chest and he slept his way through the talk. His breathing was heavy, but luckily, he didn’t snore. Leopoldo is the honourary Bearer of the Haggis at any event when we’re lucky enough to have a haggis to be borne. The photo came out very dark, though, so here’s a last-minute shot of the cat, just to have something to post.
