The Earls of March
The last of our celebrations. Down to Goodwood House, home of the Earls of March, for a tour of the house and afternoon tea in the Main Ballroom. Not any old ballroom, please note, but the Main Ballroom! The tour was excellent, all the rooms in good order, beautifully decorated in different styles. My favourite was the tapestry room with its amazing ceiling, Gaudin tapestries and wonderful turquoise colours. Wow doesn't cover it.
But the afternoon tea was the best we've had anywhere. Really special with our table in the window overlooking the grounds and the Downs. I'm on a promise to repeat the experience 5 years from now, so I'd best get on with my efforts to stay fit and well - I'd hate to miss out on that.
Thanks to the Goodwood staff, and to my wonderful family for indulging my whim to dine where the good and the great have dined. xxx
