Little mirabelle
Today started jolly well with another good weigh in, only 100 g above my target weight. More importantly my 7-day average is returning to trendy after my visit to the US, and is at the lowest for 7 weeks.
I loaded the washing machine and then we had breakfast. When the washing machine had finished its work and the laundry was drying in the sun we went for a bike ride. We only got a few kilometres before my better half had a a flat and we put in the last spare inner tube. The rest of the ride went well, no problems and we returned home after averaging around 21 km/h on a 41 km loop.
On returning home we shared a home made banana milk shake with extra whey protein and fibre (Sunday breakfast isn't as fibrous as the rest of the week) - you don't necessarily want fibre before the bike ride...! and had a slice of couscous cake.
Today's blip is from the mirabelle plum tree in the garden. It's not a very common plum in the UK, but in eastern France it is grown in huge numbers for fruit and brandy production. Given my better half is French and that mirabelles are lovely plums we have one. Last year we got one plum, this year we're hoping for a few more, it's still a young tree so we're not yet expecting enough to make a tart or a batch of jam from!
