Runway

I mentioned earlier that Tricia had ended up on the beach when she arrived and this is how  and it claims to be the only commercial scheduled flight that does land on a beach.
Rather than stopping to chat with a couple of random passers by cockle gathered (the beach is called Cockle Strand when translated from the Gaelic), this plane had just completed its taxiing and turned to take off. Can't imagine too many people wandering around on the Heathrow runway.
Another plus is the Airport Cafe does the best hot chocolate on the island. indeed they do a good "fish supper" but unfortunately the ferry has been a nightmare all week and so supplies have not been coming in as they should have been. The fish wasn't the problem but the potatoes were. Always another year.
This was our last day and so in the afternoon we headed off back on the ferry to Uist. After much dithering we ended up getting in a chinese at the neighbours and put the world to rights until 1:30am.
