A Male Shag

I thought first of all that this was a Cormorant? But when I studied my little book I was surprised to see that it is a Shag.
  The givaways they say is the turquoise eye and the bright golden yellow at the base of the bill?
 It must have lost its way as in the book it says it is a coastal flock feeder.
well this poor fella is on its own and 25 miles from the sea? lol 

Oh! And the other difference is the crest of course!
    Beautiful bird though.
