Laying in Wait

This couple is still awaiting the arrival of their little ones.  It was an adventure walking through the park- there were 7 deer calmly munching new growth about 20' from the trail.. no one seemed to notice, not even the dogs!  This nest is pretty well hidden, now that the trees are budding out, but no one stopped to look in the direction my camera barrel was pointed.  And as I sat by the drying stream for a sip of water, I heard flickers and pileated woodpeckers and saw two hairy woodpeckers chasing each other through the trees. None of the people I saw walking around seemed to see any of it.  I'm happy they're getting out into nature, but sad they can't seem to notice it.
