Allan Bank, Grasmere.

We had a pleasant wander in the picturesque woodlands around Allan Bank.
This was a residence of William Wordsworth.
A red squirrel caused a fire there a few years ago and the property suffered.
The National Trust have done their best to keep it open and various activities and nature books are available in an informal setting.
Lovely cakes, tea or homemade soup .
