Pat's Tea Party

Today was the turn of Pat's ex-pupils and friends in the community to say farewell to the best Art teacher in the west ( or east, south and north.....!)

Tash and Alison presented Pat with a copy of a poem by a local poet, who regularly contributes to our local paper. Here's what was written:

So Farewell Then, Pat

Rolling up a paint-spattered pinny
Squaring the papers
Flicking a wistful duster at a still-life
Letting the kiln cool.........

For we all know, Pat,
That this school was never made
For one as ineffable as you.

But nay - tomorrow you can
Pick a fresh palette
For those water-colour days,
Live in soft focus
And throw the odd pot at leisure

Pat MacAulay
(with nods to E J Thribb & Don McLean)

I presume that all sensible Blippers will approach this with a shovelful of salt....
